Funny once again how once Liverpool beat a team in Europe they become a poor side overnight. Inter were runaway leaders of Serie A when we played them at Anfield, unbeaten in 6 months and they were all saying Rafa was out if we lost. We beat them, won every game in between and we've just beaten them again for good measure. Now everyone is on about how Serie A is a poor league, not what it was - didn't stop anyone bigging up Arsenal's 'magnificent' win at the San Siro a week ago did it? Against a team floundering in mid table.
Monaco, Deportivo, Olympiakos, Leverkusen, Juventus, Chelsea (twice), Milan, Galatasaray, Bordeaux, PSV (twice), Barcelona, Besiktas, Porto, Marseille, Inter.
We now officially have the best record in Europe in the last 4 seasons - 1 Champions League title, 1 final, and quarters this time round. Only Milan can match it. Barcelona's record over the period pales in comparison. And yet still our achievements are belittled. Still, when we beat teams of Inter's class it's because they are poor and not because we make them poor.
Beyond a joke, and yet millions of people will pick up their newspapers tomorrow and believe every word. Pathetic.
