Celtic manager Gordon Strachan was delighted to reach the Champions League last 16, despite losing their final group match at the San Siro.
"Second year on the trot, with a new bunch of players, we've got a few injuries and few tired bodies," he said after the 1-0 loss to AC Milan.
"We must be pleased to get out of that group. I think that could have been the hardest of the groups.
"To get through is just wonderful for the club."
However, Strachan insisted his side must improve if they are to progress further at home and abroad.
Celtic made it into the last 16 of the Champions League, despite losing out to Filippo Inzaghi's record-breaking goal.
The AC Milan man fired in a close-range shot on 70 minutes to become the leading scorer in Uefa competitions.
However, Benfica's victory at Shakhtar Donetsk ensured Gordon Strachan's side progress to the knockout phase for the second year running.
Inzaghi had earlier missed a glaring chance, while Kaka was denied a late goal by a great Evander Sno block
well done celtic, great to see them make it through.
