FA 'positive' after Capello talks

Postby Poolkew on Wed Dec 12, 2007 9:39 pm

The Football Association has described talks with prospective new England coach Fabio Capello as "extremely positive and without any problems".
Capello flew out of Heathrow airport on Wednesday after meeting with the FA.

The 61-year-old met with FA chief executive Brian Barwick and director of development Sir Trevor Brooking.

FA director of communications Adrian Bevington said: "Understandably further talks are now taking place between Fabio's advisors and ourselves."

Hmmm Fabio Capello, fans of Italian and spainish football will know him well. Things I know about Capello that should be remembered amongst the media frenzy of the job.

His teams dont generally play attractive football. They tend to be pragmatic and efficent. (not bad things for an england team, but england are always being criticised under sven and mclaren for being boring)

He will drop everyone. (here is the guy who cleared out all the galacticos at real, including a certain hairstyle who left for LA)
Dont perform? gone. simple.
unlikely we will see Capello coming over all misty-eyed and star-struck, referring to "JT", "Stevie G" and "Becks", as McClaren did with such regularity.

He loves a star player - ibrahimovich, totti, if youre good enough he will treat you like a god - mr rooney pay attention.

I think he could be the right man to change english football, lets hope the media doesnt put him off
