Everton's goal tonight

Like it foreign? Its in here

Everton's goal tonight

Postby -HH- on Fri Oct 26, 2007 12:37 am

Just wanted to say (because I know Seedy and I have been arguing a bit since the derby) that I thought Osman's goal tonight was a stunning piece of play. Football how it should be played.

Thank you HH I know we argue but its only because of the big rivalry between the teams. Rivalry that I don't think alot of teams have and I also think its because of the standard of the two teams. Both teams have an enormous fan base yours is obviously bigger than ours at the moment but we still have one to be proud of. Both teams are looking at moving to massive new stadiums and both teams have good loyal managers however different their characteristics are. I think the derby has been more heated these last few years as I feel Everton are starting to produce a team that people can watch out for.

As for thursday night it really brought a tear to my eye because I have dreamt of us being in these type of games for years, scoring stunning goals like that and winning against foriegn opposition to put Everton back on the map. My girlfriend had to calm me down as I was jumping up and down and screaming.

I hope Liverpool pick up again in europe but I would love to see your lot come into the uefa cup as it would be great if we managed to get a match against eachother.

I'll see you in some manc pub before the game then. :D I don't think Bolton or Tottenham are going to do much in the competition because neither of those teams have got a concrete management and I can't imagine Bolton doing much with the yoyo manager. The one thing we can say is that we have had our manager for years so he actually knows what kind of backing he has and everything is all his own work and it takes time to build that kind of structure.

Imagine the atmosphere at that game

It would be amazing. Tickets would be absolute gold dust. Could you imagine being on the losing side of that though? Doesn't bear thinking about.

Its one of those games that could come down to one goal as both teams would be thinking about letting their fans down. Imagine what it would do for the city with the 08 celebrations lol.

Interesting topic boys. Just a thought, if we did have a Merseyside final in Manchester it still wouldn't guarantee extra tickets for the loyal fans. The majority will still go to the corporate sector, UEFA officials and other assorted hangers-on. How frustrating would that be? Time for a shake up of the whole system I say.

Its the same problem with england games. Its embaressing that after half time virtually a whole section on the halfway line is empty becuase they are all inside enjoying their complimentray drinks

Nah mate (God I'm starting to talk and type like a Manc! :? ) you're misunderstanding what's happening. That's the teams' dugouts on the half-way line and the coaches and subs obviously go inside for a team talk.

Stop being so bloody cynical!

Well UEFA said recently they were going to make more tickets available for the UEFA finals (CL and UEFA Cup) so that 75% of the ground's capacity was available to the fans of clubs involved by the 2008/09 finals. So we're kind of screwed this year, but hopefully they're good to their promise.

I won't be holding my breath, having missed out on Athens (although I was there) due to a number of factors.
